Close to the famous Nahargarh fort of Jaipur lies the another popular tourists attraction – Jal Mahal. Though visitors are not allowed to enter the palace, yet taking merely a sightseeing from distance is worth knocking one’s deep interest of visiting the palace. The rich architectural beauty as well as wonderful setting of the palace make the Jal Mahal one of the best attraction of Jaipur.

Set amidst the Mansagar Lake, the Jal Mahal have Nahargarh Hills in its backdrop. The pleasure palace of rulers of Jaipur in 18th century, Jal Mahal was built for the royal duck shotting parties. The five storeyed complex, of which the first floor is under water, still erects elegantly even after 200 years of construction, and is known for its intricate architectural beauty.

Said to be one of the best example of Rajput architecture, Jal Mahal is result of vast architectural and technical excellence, which were not generally in vogue in 18th century. Though the entry in the palace is not allowed, as it is going to turn into the first palace hotel of Jaipur, tourists can see the beautiful palace from the Amber Road (National Highway-8). The original charm of the palace comes alive in the evening when the entire complex is bathed in flood lights. In winters, hundreds of migratory birds can be seen swimming in the Man Sagar Lake.

See the elegance in evening : The architectural magnificence of the palace comes to its full circle in the evening, the entire complex is covered by flood light. It is also the best time to compete with several other photographers capturing the beautiful complex in their films.

Take sightseeing tour of Pink City : Several of famous sightseeing are located close to the Jal Mahal. Exploring many of popular historical locations like Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mahal, City Palace, Amer Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Central Museum and Isar Lat comprise a great joy for tourists.
