UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES
Depicting the strong culture and tradition, World Heritage Sites in India, exhibits the outstanding universal value. Ancient historical monuments, forts, palaces, temples, caves and other excavated sites forms the part of its heritage. The World Heritage list has total 830 sites of which 27 are in India including Taj Mahal in Uttar pradesh. These heritage sites have been selected by UNESCO to encourage protection and preservation of cultural and natural sites, as well as it has raised funds and has provided technical expertise. These Heritage sites provides the glimpse of India's glorious past and age old customs and tradition of India. The recent edition, in the year 2007, is the dignified Red Fort which stands tall with other monuments of India.World Heritage Sites
